PASAIA AHOY!

Land ahoy! Pasaia ahoy! The first edition of the Pasaia Maritime Festival has started, a great event that will become until next monday the meeting point of more than 100 traditional rowing and sailing boats, small and large.

Pasaia´s port has already begun to receive some of these boats, such as the wonderful british sailboat “Kaskelot”, 46 meters long and three masts, a sailboat that has participated in several films. The one that seems to be arriving late is the frigate “L’Hermione”, the star ship of the festival, which yesterday had to make a stop in Vigo in its navigation towards Pasaia to repair one of its engines damaged due to the harsh conditions of navigation since he departed some days before from the Algarve in Portugal. Despite the bad luck, the organization hopes that the French frigate can still reach Pasaia before the end of the festival.

Concerts, guided tours, gastronomy, activities for young and old … Pasaia is going to be a great festival dedicated to the love of the sea and boats during the following days. One of the most exciting moments will arrive tomorrow at 7:00 pm, when the 100 traditional boats that are arriving in Pasaia will participate in the great boat stop that will open the nautical event.
