THE BACKSTAGE OF THE FILM

A big success. Curious students, children, parents, comic book lovers disguised … all followed with great attention the details of the creative and technical process that are hidden behind the film “Elcano and Magellan, The First Voyage Around the World”. The appointment was in Donostia, Basque Country, at the Kursaal Congress Center inside the International Comic and Manga Fair of Donostia, at the conference organized by the Centa School and the Production Company Dibulitoon Studio.

The appointment aroused great interest, since beyond the specialized circles, little is known about the backstage of the animated films … the characters are not flesh and blood and the settings are not usually able to travel by plane, so the glamor of the animated cinema usually remains encapsulated within computers and specialized 3D / 2D programs that manage to give life to this type of cinema. On Saturday at the Kursaal, these barriers were broken and people were able to see first-hand the art and profession of the animated cinema.

Angel Alonso, Director of the film, explained the advances of the film that will be released in 2019, coinciding with the 500th anniversary of the great adventure culminated by Juan Sebastian Elcano. Arkaitz Alastuey and Gonzalo Amilburu, teachers of Centa and professionals in Dibulitoon, offered more technical details of the creative process of the characters, a journey from the sketch on paper to digital animation.

We leave here some pictures of some of the moments of the conference and also the new that ETB offered at the Teleberri on Saturday night.
